| Instructions for use of ProCat-Cat registry |
ProCat-cat registry offers almost unlimited possibilities to add information to any cat - but also gives opportunity to restrict publicity of the information. Full information of the cat can be seen where ever the 
-icon is available related to cat's name - in the result list of Search cats, in other cat's information or pedigrees and so on - page is opened also from cat's name.
Any registered user may define basic information (name, breed, color, parents, date of birth, breeder) and country where the cat is born and where it lives, blood group, quality, genotype, and information about cat's death, also define if the cat is for sale or in breeding. Besides these also free text can be written and add photos to make the cat information even more lively.
When cat information is saved, inbreeding coefficient for 6 generations and ancestor loss coefficient for 10 generations is calculated and displayed in Full information of the cat. Coefficient information is updated to offspring of two cats whenever any user compares their pedigrees - to keep the values as up-to-date as possible as the value may change when new cats are added to the registry. As it is possible to compare pedigrees with different generation numbers, also number of generations used in the calculation is displayed after the coefficient value.
It is possible to add show results, person information (breeders, owners etc.), several identification information (register numbers in different organisations, microchip numbers), a variety of property or test result information anc caretaking information in the cat information. All information added to the cat information is displayed in Full information of the cat-page. In the end of page also list of cat's offspring is listed.
From Full information -page you can also open 6 generations pedigree (possibly also with photos), and from the pedigree you can open full information for any cat in the pedigree or continue to see the pedigree of the selected cat and so the whole ancestor information is also available for you. You can also compare cat's pedigree to any other cat in the registry or compare cats' parents pedigrees. As a result you get a list of cats which are found in both cats' pedigree and also inbreeding and ancestor loss coefficient to their possible offspring. Also statistics of occurences of any properties in cat's pedigree is available.

You can open pedigree of the selected cat, it's parents or it's offspring from Full information -page by clicking You can see full information for any cat in the pedigree by clicking If any cat in the pedigree has properties which are defined as follow-up properties, asterixes (**) are added after the name of the cat. Asterixes show that some follow-up property is added to cat information - but it doesn't tell the result or which property - that information can be checked from full information (click Back to index page
You can see the statistics of how many cats in the 12 generation pedigree has a specified property and test result in the cat's pedigree - also the generation where the property exists first time. This information may help in tries to prevent some recessively inherited properties to be inherited - if no DNA test for that property is available. Back to index page
You can compare pedigrees for 4, 6, 8 or 10 generations of any two cats in the registry with "Compare to other cat's pedigree" function found in Full information of a cat -page. Start comparing by clicking the link in the number which defines how many generations you want to compare. Search cats-page is opened and you can fetch any cat from the registry. After searching cats, select the cat which pedigree you want to compare by clicking cat's name or As a result you get Inbreeding and ancestor loss coefficient to the offspring of the 2 compared cats, and a list of cats which exist in both cats' pedigrees. Also relationship to the cat is informed (s = sire, d = dam). Besides these also list of possible and unpossible colors (and some other fenotype properties) for offspring is listed. When any user compares any 2 cats, inbreeding and ancestor loss coefficient for the offspring is saved to any cat which parents are the 2 compared cats. Back to index page
Compare parents' pedigrees calculates inbreeding and ancestor loss coefficient calculated to 4, 6, 8 or 10 generations. Start comparing by clicking the link in the number which defines how many generations you want to compare after "Compare parents' pedigrees". Coefficient is saved to all cats which parents are the same cats as cats parents including the cat whose parents are compared. All ancestors which are found in both parents' pedgrees are listed with information of the relationship (s=sire, d=dam). Back to index page
Calculate ALC starts calculation of ancestor loss coefficient for 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 generations. Start calculation by clicking the number after "Calculate ALC" which defines how many generations you want to calculate. ALC is saved to cat's litter information = to all cats born in the same litter. Pedigree
icon. You can select number of pedigrees shown - either 4, 5 or 6 generations. Pedigree contains inbreeding and ancestor loss coefficient and photo for 2 - 4 first generations, for 5. and 6. generation less information. icon or name. From full information you can open cat's own pedigree. Pedigree for cats in 3 - 5 first generations can be opened also straight from the pedigree by clicking icon - this gives you possibility to see all ancestors found in the registry. Registered users can also go to Litter information by clicking
